About the event
SBHA members and their guests are welcome to join us for a weekend of camping and trail riding at the Groom Creek Horse Camp, located in the Prescott National Forest. Come and relax just seven miles south of Prescott, Arizona at an elevation of 6,398 feet in a ponderosa pine setting.
All campsite are pull-throughs, have a steel corral, an overhead tether line that accommodates two to four horses, a fire ring and a picnic table. The pavilion for gathering is located within walking distance of all campsites in Loop C.
Trail rides of 3 1/2 to 4 hours will be lead Friday afternoon, Saturday and a short ride Sunday morning. Bring rain gear as we could have afternoon monsoon storms. Most of the footing is very good. There are a few rocky places so shoes or boots are recommended for your horse.
