SBHA Member Photos 2015
July 25 – 26 , 2015, SBHA Annual Meeting – 4Winds Equestrian complex Estancia, New Mexico. This was a beautiful facility with very nice horse and human accommodations, RV hookups, indoor and outdoor arenas, horse swimming ponds, trails, round corral and a 50 acre eventing course.
We had such a good time we are going back for the 2016 SBHA Annual Meeting. Please enjoy the photos from the 2015 Annual Meeting below.
May 16th & 17th, 2015 – New Mexico Trainer Showcase and HorseExpo – 8 am to 7 pm – was sponsored by 4Winds Equestrian Center.
SBHA participated in this new event near Estancia, New Mexico. Topics featured were: Trainers, horse trailers, various riding and breed demos, and equestrian services.
April 26, 2015 We had three Spanish Barbs at a public awareness event sponsored by EQUINE VOICES. They are a horse rescue organization in Amado, Arizona and they asked us to come with information on the Barbs and to do a riding demonstration. Enjoy the images below of the Equine Voices event.
Ted “T.R.” Hughes
T.R. passed away on March 17, 2015. He was a life long supporter of the SBHA. He both owned and bred Barbs from the inception of the organization. What peaked his interest in our “Horses of History” was their relationship with the Plains Indians, particularly the Northern Cheyenne Community, to whom T. R. was devoted. T.R. provided his stallion, “Sun,” for traditional ceremonies.
Sun became one of five lines that formed the foundation for the organization’s breeding efforts. T.R. was known for his sense of humor and his generous efforts to promote Spanish Barbs. T.R. and his wife Kay bred many fine Barbs during the last 20 years and they can truly be considered foundation supporters of the SBHA.
