Welcome to the Spanish Barb Horse Association!

The Spanish Barb Horse Association (SBHA), formerly known as the Spanish Barb Breeders Association (SBBA), is dedicated to the preservation, perpetuation and promotion of the critically endangered Spanish Barb Horse. These magnificent horses were first brought to the Americas by the Spanish Explorers.

Today, there are fewer than 2,000 pure Spanish Barb Horses in the United States. The American Livestock Breeds Conservancy assigns their priority for conservation as, "Critical".

We need your help in preserving and promoting these horses. We invite you to share our mission by joining us and learning more about the unique traits of the Spanish Barb Horse. Anyone can join you do not have to own a Spanish Barb Horse to be a member. Please join SBHA today and help save the Spanish Barb.
